Fix the Foundation: Rethinking Infrastructure for a Stronger Gauteng

Infrastructure isn’t just about budgets. It's about its role in economic recovery and industrialisation boost. Compliant Infrastructure provides long-lasting benefits such as Return on Investment, the highest level of service, and a low maintenance burden.

On the 28th November 2024, we were requested to facilitate a pivotal engagement with the Gauteng Provincial Government, Gauteng Municipalities, Gauteng Agencies and the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Infrastructure South Africa and other funding institutions focused on how to unlock over R50 billion in infrastructure renewal needs across Gauteng that meet the Safety Standards, Are Climate Resilient, Energy Conservation and with Environmental Compliance.

The session entailed presentations from various departments and institutions presenting their Key projects, Solutions and also shared their Implementation Challenges, if any and furthermore, the partnerships and capacity building requirements.

Our role?

Facilitating engagements with various departments from Human Settlements, Transportation, Water and Sanitation, Energy, and Funding Institutions. Providing insight on how to achieve Infrastructure compliance, as infrastructure non-compliance remains a painful sting that keeps taking RSA 10 steps back.

Why it matters

Fast-tracked funding without lifecycle planning is a shortcut to risk. Thero Services assists departments in embedding compliance, sustainability, and execution discipline into the infrastructure ecosystem, turning public vision into real-world resilience.
